Holiday/Ugly Sweater Themed FLRC Group Run on the BDT Saturday 12/17 @ 8:30am

The next Saturday FLRC group run is this Saturday, December 17th, in Ithaca on the Black Diamond Trail (or Waterfront Trail, footing depedant). We will meet in the parking lot of the Children’s Garden on Turtle Lane at 8:30am and run at 8:45am.

For the final group run of 2022, our theme will be ugly holiday sweaters! If you don’t have an ugly sweater, just wear something festive (or if you’re not into dressing up, that’s okay too). I will have eggnog (and something to spice it with if desired) for post-run - cups will be provided but if you don’t already have your Go Green! Backstretch Bingo square crossed out (or even if you do), bring a cup.

Details: This is an out-and-back run, so you can’t get lost! The standard run is an hour (30 minutes out, 30 minutes back), which allows everyone to start together and end together. Everyone is welcome, regardless of age, ability, pace, or anything else. This is a free activity and club membership is not required, but please sign the waiver before your first run this year. You only need to sign the waiver once for all 2022 group runs, so if you’ve already signed it, you’re all set! (Check Webscorer to verify that you signed.)

Please vote in the poll below so others can get a sense of who else will be running their pace. We always have a wide range of runners, so you’ll generally find someone to run with.

Also, everyone please be careful on the roads this morning! Someone posted to FLX weather “7 am sat 12/17. Ithaca roads are black ice. Be extremely careful. Even trying to stop at 10 mph on Elmira road with all wheel drive and 4 snow tires, slip sliding away!”

Thank you for the info, Rachel! 13s was good until Wegmans, then slippery to Goodyear. Currently walking from Goodyear to the trailhead, and not seeing any issues with car sliding on the road. Everyone please be safe.

A big thank you to the crew who braved the slick roads and sidewalks to come out for the final group run of 2022. I was so worried about the weather this morning that I completely forgot my ugly sweater. I guess it will wait for next year! The footing on the BDT was great.
