The above was on my mind as I was running near the golf course this morning. I used to play golf in high school, and I was terrible! I thought too much; my body was constantly battling my brain. Any guesses who won??
Early in our marriage, my husband convinced me to play in a couple’s golf league. The last year we played (many, many years ago), we won the league! Do you know how?!? I was pregnant, and my brain couldn’t over think my body, um, belly.
Ran 5k at the Ithaca 5&10. With not much training because of a broken hand, I took the first mile so slowly that there was almost no one behind me. Decided to pick it up and managed to get in at 34:45.
I don’t recall ever driving on Willow Ave to the golf course. Little did I know, the traffic sign where Willow Ave intersects the golf course then runs parallel to it to the clubhouse is actually a yield sign.
Sometimes when I’m running and coming upon a more dangerous intersection, I plan in my head well in advance for different scenarios … what will I do if I see a car going X speed at Y spot. Today as I was crossing Willow Ave in the crosswalk, I fully expected an oncoming car to at least slow down at the interaction (where I thought there was a stop sign), but that was not at all the case. I thought I was going to get hit.
