Thanksgiving is just a week from tomorrow: have you added the Ithaca Turkey Trot prediction run to your plans for the day? It’s a fun event for all, complete with pies from Purity Ice Cream to the five closest predictions. This year we have long-sleeved Turkey Trot T-shirts available for $20. Pre-order online to reserve your size (quantities are limited) or purchase at the run.
Call for Volunteers: Do you have a friend or family member who would like to participate but isn’t up for a run or walk? Sign up to volunteer. If you have any questions, contact Race Director Bruce Roebal here on the forum or via direct email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Run/jog/walk 5.5 miles (or any distance you desire—the challenge is to predict how long you’ll be out) and then enjoy baked goods donated by Ithaca Bakery, apples courtesy of Cornell Orchards, apple cider provided by FLRC, and the possibility of winning a pie from Purity Ice Cream to decorate your Thanksgiving dinner table. Bring your friends and family!
We will once again be collecting money for Loaves & Fishes of Tompkins County, a nonprofit organization that provides a place for free meals, hospitality, companionship, and advocacy for those in need in the community. You can donate online before the event or bring cash to the event. The suggested donation is $10.
No pre-registration is necessary though you can donate funds or pre-order a shirt in advance of the event. Either way, you’ll fill out your prediction when you arrive. Please come to the Ithaca High School cafeteria between 7:30–8:30 AM for the 9:00 AM start. There will be no COVID-19 restrictions, though anyone who wishes to wear a mask is welcome to do so.
Do you have a friend or family member who would like to participate but isn’t up for a run or walk? We could use a few more volunteers. Contact Race Director Bruce Roebal here on the forum or via direct email to email@example.com to offer your assistance.
