Are you ready for the Ithaca Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving morning?

Thanksgiving is just a week from today: have you added the Ithaca Turkey Trot prediction run to your plans for the day? It’s a fun event, with pies from Purity Ice Cream to the five closest predictions. Turkey Trot sweatshirts will be available for sale at the event.

Call for Volunteers: Do you have a friend or family member who wants to participate but isn’t up for a run or walk? We can always use volunteers, so check out our volunteer opportunities.

Run/jog/walk 5.5 miles (or any distance you desire—the challenge is to predict how long you’ll be out) and then enjoy post-race refreshments provided by Wegmans and the possibility of winning a pie from Purity Ice Cream to decorate your Thanksgiving dinner table. Bring your friends and family!

The event is a fundraiser for Loaves & Fishes of Tompkins County, a non-profit organization that provides a place for free meals, hospitality, companionship, and advocacy for those in need in the community—they serve over 5,000 meals per month. You can donate online or bring cash to the run (suggested donation is $10).

Please come to the Ithaca High School between 7:30 and 8:30 AM for the 9:00 AM start.

@scottpdawson, is there a way to modify my registration? I wanted to submit my donation to Loaves & Fishes online with my registration. I checked the box indicating this that I would be donating, but the calculator showed $0 and there was no place to enter a donation. Did I miss something? Also, this will be my 29th year at the Turkey Trot. Bruce, former race director used to keep track of this. See you on Thursday.

Hi Sue! There’s no way to modify a registration to add a donation, so I’ve deleted your previous registration, and you can just register again from scratch. Look for the question about donating, select Yes, enter an amount in the box next to USD, and click Calculate to see it take effect.
