Thanksgiving is just a week from tomorrow: have you added the Ithaca Turkey Trot prediction run to your plans for the day? It’s a fun event, with pies from Purity Ice Cream to the five closest predictions. Turkey Trot sweatshirts are available by pre-order and for sale at the event. Pre-order online to reserve your size or purchase at the run.
New for this year, everyone must register online. The Turkey Trot remains free to enter, but to calculate results more quickly, we’re using a new system that requires all runners to wear custom-designed race bibs that we scan at the finish.
Call for Volunteers: Do you have a friend or family member who wants to participate but isn’t up for a run or walk? We can always use volunteers, so check out our volunteer opportunities.
Run/jog/walk 5.5 miles (or any distance you desire—the challenge is to predict how long you’ll be out) and then enjoy post-race refreshments provided by Wegmans and the possibility of winning a pie from Purity Ice Cream to decorate your Thanksgiving dinner table. Bring your friends and family!
The event is a fundraiser for Loaves & Fishes of Tompkins County, a non-profit organization that provides a place for free meals, hospitality, companionship, and advocacy for those in need in the community—they serve over 5,000 meals per month. You can donate online or bring cash to the run (suggested donation is $10).
Please come to the Ithaca High School between 7:30 and 8:30 AM for the 9:00 AM start.
