Keep Moving So the Buzzards Leave You Alone
This was the first course of the day to run some miles on tired legs. On my drive there, a bald eagle was perched on one of the nesting platforms near Brickyard Road. Very cool!

This is such a lovely little course to run! Love the descent through the woods past the big waterfall and gorge

and you quickly find yourself near the lake with nice views through the trees

On the return, a short detour to the Gorge Vista to find… buzzards!

There was a fourth one in the sky, before these three took flight too. Then another pair of birds took off from a perch on a tree above the cliff across the gorge

My best guess is they are falcons, but I don’t have access to Pete’s @Petorius pair of resident ornithologists to consult.

Continued across the small cascading creeks

and onto the out and back to the road, which is a little wet and muddy right now.

Finished off with the loop around the meadow, where the path has been recently mowed, and enjoyed the nice view!

As I was finishing the lower part of the loop, I noticed two buzzards circling just above the treetops right over me! I didn’t think I smelled like carrion yet.
