Dan King sets new 60-64 age group record in the mile

4:49.08 at age 61! (Of course, he was a 14:34 5K guy in college, so he has the genes for it.)

It’s fascinating to read about his training strategy and to see how the pandemic has helped him focus on the mile.

The previous American record was set by our friend Nolan Shaheed, who ran 4:53.01 back in 2012 and has several times run the Hartshorne Memorial Masters Mile (setting age-group indoor mile records there).
