FLRC’s Annual Picnic is Thursday, 9/18, from 6–9 PM at the Treman State Park North Shelter (the first one you get to when driving in). The picnic dinner is free, though there is a $10 NYS Parks parking fee—carpool to cut costs and combat climate change (kudos to Joe Nolan for organizing a meetup at the Wegmans parking lot). We’ll also have beer and non-alcoholic beverages, along with dessert.
A few notes:
-
Join us! Even if you weren’t able to RSVP before this, it’s fine to come—we should have sufficient food based on estimates.
-
Volunteer! I still need help setting up and breaking down, so it would be great if a few more people could sign up to volunteer.
-
Challenge medals! Remember, this is your big chance to get your FLRC Challenge medal—pick it up at the sign-in table when you arrive.
-
Swap table! Bring any unwanted running-related items—shoes, clothing, exercise gadgets, etc—that someone else might want more than you, and take anything you want. The only rule is that you have to take home anything you bring that wasn’t taken.
-
Unwanted medals! If you have unwanted medals and trophies, give them to me at the picnic, and we’ll use them for kid awards at track meets.
-
Kid lawn games! Since the weather is looking nice, kids will probably enjoy playing outside the pavilion. If you have any fun lawn games for kids to play, please bring them.
