FH Fox Star Posts (2026)

Use this topic for posts that will collect community stars for the FH Fox course. You can also ask questions or make comments about this course.

Here’s how it works.

  • Click the “Post Using This Template” button below to create a new post with a Story heading and boilerplate text.
  • Replace the boilerplate text with your report for one or both sections. The Story header is key for distinguishing between posts and replies—don’t change it.

I am so glad that challenge time is here again
:growing_heart::woman_running: started with my original favorite.
I really need the extra motivation to get out there.

Hitting the trails helped to clear my head.

Spring Favorite!
Definitely one of my favorite Challenge courses, too. Plenty of colorful blooms to see along the way and Fall Creek is flowing pretty strongly. I always like the view at this bend:

Running the FH Fox loop early this morning reminded me how much I enjoyed this course two years ago. When I started the rain had let up but some of the off-road parts were still quite soggy. Thankfully the lumpy dirt a mile into the course (behind the townhouses on Rt 366) was recently resurfaced to smooth crushed gravel, eliminated the mud and standing water I’d expected. Only 2-3 weeks ago it was still the bumpy surface it had been for years.

And for those of you unaware of the history of the “FH FOX IS 4EVER” bridge: https://www.vet.cornell.edu/about-us/news/20190401/historical-hijinks-college-prankster-fh-fox

Running on the trail with thoughts running through my head: This is my favorite run. Wow! I feel great today. Trillium! More Trillium! I love this run. Watch out for mud - the mud here is always greasy. It’s not that muddy. It is muddy. Maybe I’m past the slippery spot. Er… maybe not! I love the curve of the trail here. I love the curve of the stream here. Someday, we won’t remember that this bridge deck was mostly holes. My life lines come together on this field. I’ve been on this path so very many times before. Why is that guy yelling? I dunno - he’s up on the hill and he seems to be okay and not yelling at me. The bridge! So… many… stairs… Oh, oh, yeah! The apple tree blossoms are amply amazing. I am off-course and twirling around under the apple trees. It is still sunny out. This hill is still here. Where there is a hill, there is a way. I wish those cars would stop for me. I am almost done. I could run like this forever. I am getting a little tired. I am running along and along. I am smiling at a runner going the other way. I am hitting the button on my watch. I am standing in actual sunshine. Go spring!
