FLRC Board of Directors meeting on Tuesday, June 14th at 6:30 PM

The FLRC Board of Directors will be having its monthly meeting at an out-of-cycle time (due to a conflict with the Twilight 5K) on Tuesday, June 14th, at 6:30 PM via Zoom. All our meetings are open to the public, so if you’d like to attend, send an email message to board-meeting@fingerlakesrunners.org to receive the Zoom connection details via auto-reply (this is necessary to keep Zoom trolls out of the meeting). If you’ve previously requested the Zoom link, you can use the same one you received before.

If you’d like to bring a matter before the Board, mention it in your message, and we can discuss adding it to the meeting agenda.

Our board meetings generally revolve around updates on club and committee activities, including a report on the club’s financial activity and position from the Finance Committee and coverage of recent past and near future races from the Race Committee.

This month’s meeting will include more discussion of our draft Financial Practices & Procedures Policy, the final results of our bylaws vote, and a report on new efforts from the Diversity & Inclusion Committee.

I open each board meeting with a quick acknowledgment of those who have gone above and beyond in volunteering for the club in the past month. To give credit where credit is due in public, I’d like to thank our May race directors, who helped kick off our community-focused season of races.

Chris Irving and Lorrie Tily held a thoroughly enjoyable Women’s Distance Festival 5K out at Dryden Lake. Joel Cisne and Gary McCheyne made the triple-distance Thom B. Trail Runs a reality. And Mickie Sanders-Jauquet has done lots of prep work to ensure that the return of the Twilight 5K will be a big success. Thanks to all of them, and to a pair of FLRC members who put in extra hours helping the club this month: Dave Kania for helping to transport gear to Thom B. after our U-Haul reservation was abruptly canceled and Liz Hartman for coordinating volunteers for Twilight. Next time you see any of these folks, be sure to thank them for their efforts to support running in our area!
