The FLRC Board of Directors will have its monthly meeting on Wednesday, April 9, at 6:15 PM via Zoom. All our meetings are open to the public, so if you’d like to attend, email board-meeting@fingerlakesrunners.org to receive the Zoom connection details via auto-reply (and let me know if you don’t get the auto-reply). The link is the same if you’ve previously requested it.
Our board meetings revolve around club and committee activity updates, including a report on the club’s financial position and quick coverage of past and upcoming races. This month, we’ll look at the results from the Skunk Cabbage Classic, discuss the new Young at Heart group runs, check in on the progress of the Couch to 5K program, discuss how to deal with other races advertising at ours, start the search for a new Merchandise Manager, brainstorm locations for an FLRC-sponsored porta-potty, and more.
I open each board meeting with a quick acknowledgment of those who have gone above and beyond in volunteering for the club. This month, I want to acknowledge Kate McCormick and Lizzy Rayle, who have been coaching the kids’ workout every Tuesday night from November through the end of this month. Also, although so many people helped make Skunk Cabbage a success, I want to call out those who were essential to the race happening at all: Tonya Engst for serving as assistant race director and managing bibs and shirts, Marte Reps and Lauren Milano for ordering and managing the food, Gary McCheyne for juggling a vast amount of equipment and doing course setup, and Joel Cisne for repainting the mile markers.
