The FLRC Board of Directors will have its monthly meeting on Wednesday, August 14, at 6:15 PM in person at 50 Hickory Road in Ithaca with remote attendance via Zoom (but no guarantees on Zoom working well with an outdoor dinner meeting).
All our meetings are open to the public, so if you’d like to attend in person, email president@fingerlakesrunners.org to RSVP for dinner or email board-meeting@fingerlakesrunners.org to receive the Zoom connection details via auto-reply (and let me know if you don’t get the auto-reply). The link is the same if you’ve previously requested it.
Our board meetings revolve around club and committee activity updates, including a report on the club’s financial position and quick coverage of past and upcoming races. This month, our main discussions will revolve around checking in on the many races we have had and still have this summer, plus looking at the board makeup for 2025.
I open each board meeting with a quick acknowledgment of those who have gone above and beyond in volunteering for the club in the past month. To give credit where it’s due in public, please join me in thanking the following people:
- Lorrie Tily and Chris Irving for making the Fillmore 5K happen despite school construction
- Mike Stone and Pete Dady for organizing the Forest Frolic trail race
- Alan Lockett for putting on Forge the Gorge at Fillmore Glen State Park
- Lauren Milano and Dave Kania for doing much of the setup and grilling work for an informal potluck picnic for 36 runners after one of our Tuesday night Summer Speed workouts in Stewart Park
