The FLRC Board of Directors will have its monthly meeting on Wednesday, July 8, at 6:30 PM in person at 50 Hickory Road in Ithaca (off the Skunk Cabbage half marathon course). Club members are welcome, but let me know so I can make sure to order enough ingredients for build-your-own-tacos. 
Our board meetings revolve around club and committee activity updates, including a report on the club’s financial position and a brief overview of past and upcoming races. This month, we’ll look back at the results from the Twilight 5K, Sunset Circuits track meet, and Finger Lakes 50s, plus looking ahead to Fillmore 5K, Trackapalooza, Forest Frolic, Forge the Gorge, Monster Marathon, and the Ithaca 5&10—it’s a busy season! We will also be scheduling two workshop proposals and talking about how the club can use our new Starlink system for communications at trail races.
I open each board meeting with a quick acknowledgment of those who have gone above and beyond in volunteering for the club. This month, I want to acknowledge Scott and Amy Dawson for hosting a horde of runners after the June 13 group run, Laurel Gilmer and Patrick Boyle for directing an extremely smoothly run Tortoise & Hare, my key track volunteers for the hot and humid Sunset Circuits track meet, and Jeney Wierman and Adam Moody (and numerous FLRC members who stepped up on the 4th of July!) for an excellent job directing Finger Lakes 50s!
