I hope everyone who made it to last week’s picnic enjoyed themselves. I had a great time sharing details about how well the club is doing (a record 935 members and ever-increasing participation!) and making a fuss over all our FLRC Challenge winners. My only regret is not getting to say hi to more of you.
We handed out a bunch of Challenge medals and shirts, sold some swag from past races, shared some tasty food from Fitnell BBQ along with drinks and cookies, and laughed at Mike Stewart’s jokes. The swap table was successful again, with lots of perfectly functional running gear finding a new home. Special thanks to the picnic volunteers and our team and committee leaders who shared more about the club’s inner workings.
Quite a few people weren’t aware of FLRC’s community photo album, which hosts thousands of photos—probably including some of you—from races and club events dating back to the early 2000s. You can see a handful of photos from the event, and if you took any, please share them!
Let me know if you have any feedback about the picnic or ideas about how to make it better next year.
