FLRC’s Twilight 5K is on June 10! Register now to run or volunteer!

The approach of the summer solstice brings us long evening light on the shores of Cayuga Lake, and this year’s Twilight 5K race takes you along plenty of shoreline at Cass Park and Treman Marina, where we’ll be racing on smooth trails. Whether you run or walk, you’ll enjoy a flat, fast course, chip timing, and lots of cheering—it’s a perfect 5K for new and experienced runners alike. Everyone is welcome! The race will include participants in the national Girls on the Run empowerment program and counts as a timed 5K for the ongoing FLRC Challenge.

Race start time is 7 PM, and we hope you’ll stick around after you finish for the pizza party.

Through June 1, you can register for only $25; the price rises on June 2 and again on June 9, so register early to save!

We need a few more volunteers—particularly course marshals! If you’re not running, would you like to help out? We’ll be welcoming 400+ runners, and we need your help to make it a successful night for all! Volunteering is a great way to meet people, give back to the running community, and stay in touch with the club. To participate, click the Volunteer to Help button on the race page or check the opportunities in Helper Helper.

Hi Kris, Thanks very much to you and your race staff for putting on the Twilight. I’m very much looking forward to running.
Could I ask a favor? I’m helping put on the Pete de Mott Peace Trot on Father’s Day. As we have done in years past, I was hoping to pass out little flyers inviting folks to enjoy the Pace Trot. At the Skunk, our folks really screwed by giving runners these flyers as they passed the finish line. A number of them objected to Adam as race director to this annoyance. As Adam graciously offered, we could advertise the Peace Trot at future FLRC events if we approached the race director in advance and asked for permission, hence this email. I will be sure that we don’t repeat what our group did at the Skunk, rather pass out flyers well away from the finish line. Much obliged if we could do this, following any other guidelines you might have for us. Thanks very much for considering this request. Best Running Wishes, Carl

Hi Carl,

Thanks for writing and glad you will be running!

Happy for you to pass out flyers but as you suggest, away from the finish line.

Thanks for your support of the running community,
Kris

Many Thanks Kris! (cc: Tom Joyce, Race Director of the Peace Trot), Sincerely, Carl
