Forest Frolic trail race is on July 28—get ready to frolic!

It’s time to sign up for the 2024 Forest Frolic 7K and 15K trail races on July 28! The classic Forest Frolic trail races take place on the beautiful singletrack trails through Kennedy State Forest in Virgil. The 15K (9-mile) course is a figure eight with 1,700 feet of ascent over rolling hills, runnable flats, and a few longer, gradual climbs. The 7K (4.1-mile) course follows the shorter, more scenic loop of the 15K and features about 700 feet of climbing. Both end with a fast half-mile finish down a flat logging road. Afterward, grab some beverages and watermelon and stick around to cheer your friends into the finish!

Both distances are part of the FLRC Trail Circuit, and our leaderboard will again be updated after the race.

For those who chose not to run, but want to stay involved, come volunteer with us this weekend. It’s a great opportunity to hang out in the woods, give back to the community, and cheer on your trail friends.

Because Frolic is a bit of a drive with limited parking, we suggest carpooling, and we’ve set up a handy-dandy carpool sign-up.

Whether you’re looking for your first trail race, wanting to race hard, or enjoy a training run for a longer race (such as the Monster Marathon or Half Marathon), you can register now and get ready to frolic through the forest on July 28!

This is a super fun race with stream crossings, inclines, and beautiful forest to run though!
