Hello,
I am a member of The Gayogo̱hó:nǫˀ Learning Project advisory board and am reaching out to you because we are hosting a free screening of a film on Sunday December 7th at 2:30pm that we think your members might be interested in. The movie is called “Remaining Native” https://www.remainingnativedocumentary.com/ a documentary told from the perspective of Ku Stevens (Yerington Paiute), a 17-year-old Native American runner, struggling to navigate his dream of becoming a collegiate athlete as the memory of his great-grandfather’s escape from an Indian boarding school begins to connect past, present, and future.
Normally we send out information about the films we host through regular media sources but in this case we felt that the runners in our community might find the film of particular interest. Tickets can be reserved through Cinemapolis: https://www.cinemapolis.org/movie/remaining-native
I would be happy to answer any questions or provide further information. We do hope that this information can be shared with your membership and that some of them might come along to view this inspiring movie.
Best regards,
Shirley Brown
