Get ready for the 50th Anniversary of the Ithaca Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving morning!

Good day, runners! Thanksgiving is coming soon, so it’s time to start thinking about the 50th-anniversary edition of the Ithaca Turkey Trot prediction run, with pies from Purity Ice Cream to the five closest predictions—and a fun run for all! This year we have long-sleeved Turkey Trot T-shirts available for $20. Pre-order online to reserve your size or purchase at the run.

What better way to start Thanksgiving Day than to run/jog/walk 5.5 miles (or any distance you desire—the challenge is to predict how long you’ll be out) and then enjoy baked goods donated by Ithaca Bakery, apples courtesy of Cornell Orchards, apple cider provided by FLRC, and the possibility of winning a pie from Purity Ice Cream to decorate your Thanksgiving dinner table. Bring your friends and family!

We will once again be collecting money for Loaves & Fishes of Tompkins County, a nonprofit organization that provides a place for free meals, hospitality, companionship, and advocacy for those in need in the community. You can donate online before the event or bring cash to the event. The suggested donation is $10.

No pre-registration is necessary though you can donate funds or pre-order a shirt in advance of the event. Either way, you’ll fill out your prediction when you arrive. Please come to the Ithaca High School cafeteria between 7:30–8:30 AM for the 9:00 AM start. There will be no COVID-19 restrictions, though anyone who wishes to wear a mask is welcome to do so.

Do you have a friend or family member who would like to participate but isn’t up for a run or walk? We could use a few more volunteers. Contact Race Director Bruce Roebal here on the forum or via direct email to bar2@cornell.edu to offer your assistance.
