If you are still procrastinating on the FLRC Challenge and need to do a 5k consider coming out to Groton on the very last day of the challenge and run the Labor Day 5k. Full disclosure, it is not the flattest 5k around, but it is a nice course that goes along some quite village streets, a rail trail (that is only open on race day) and finishes on the high school track. And no worries about getting lost, there is a very experienced lead biker for both the mile run and the 5k
