High Noon men’s roster for PGXC #5 on 11/10/2024

This is it, @pgxc-high-noon, the championship race of the PGXC series coming up on Sunday 11/10 at Center Park in Fairport, this side of Rochester. We’ll post more about carpool logistics later in the week after we learn more about what the post-race award ceremony will look like.

Sadly, if you haven’t run a race yet this year, you can’t score for a team in this race. You’re still welcome to run as an individual.

We’re currently in second place in the club cup. STC is far in the lead with 187 points, with us in second with 128 points. GVH is just one point behind at 127, so we need every point we can squeeze out. I’ll be juggling teams, as you’ll see below, and I’m working to get a U19 B team (and possibly even a C team) for more nearly guaranteed points.

As far as the roster goes, here’s what we have so far. Let’s see if we can field full teams across the board! If you haven’t already signed up, make sure to register in RunSignup and on the High Noon roster sheet.

Remember that I have to build teams before the race, so late signups cause stress, and no-shows cause even more. If you need to change your plans either way, let me know directly via a post here, email to ace@tidbits.com, or text to 607-275-9557.

Open (5 to score, 9 can run)

  • Augustus Pendleton (?)
  • Brian Wegman
  • Christopher Petroff
  • Jason Jenks
  • Josh Nogaret (?)
  • Mik Kern
  • Patrick Milano
  • Ryan Allen-Parrot

We have a solid team, but it would be stronger yet with Peter Gracy, Alex Simpson, (Mik, can you reach out?) and Seth Bywater.

Masters (5 to score, 9 can run)

  • Columbia Warren (?)
  • Dave Kania
  • Devan Berry (?)
  • Jay Hubisz
  • Kilian Weinberger
  • Patrick Boyle
  • Peter Frazier
  • Scotie Jacobs (?)
  • Tristan Lambert

Masters is looking strong again, and after losing the last race by only 2 points, it would be great to go all in this week and pick up some club cup points.

Vets (5 to score, 9 can run)

  • Adam Engst
  • Damian Clemons (only if we need a warm body)
  • Bob Swizdor
  • Jesse Koennecke
  • Joey Randall
  • Roger Moseley

We have a scoring team here, but with Steve Jesch, Steve Vanek, Ofer Leshed, or Peng Chen joining us, I’d have the flexibility to run Roger down to Masters to increase their club cup points.

Super Vets (3 to score, 5 can run)

  • Allan Filipowicz
  • Brian Harrington (?)
  • Casey Carlstrom

Even if Brian can’t make it, I think we’ll be running Ultra Vets down because we have a better chance of scoring more club cup points in Super Vets than the extremely deep Ultra Vets division.

Ultra Vets (3 to score, 5 can run)

  • Charlie Fay (?)
  • Carl Franck
  • Jorge Ramirez

The big question here is if Charlie will be able to run, but even if he can, we’re more likely to pick up 2 or 3 points in Super Vets compared to the 1 point we’d get in Ultra Vets.

I’ll be there to run, albeit not very quickly. Definitely run UVs down. We’ve missed two races as a team so there in no chance we can earn any points.

Thanks Adam, Glad to do any good for the team, wish I was quicker, Carl

Adam I have reinjured my knee and barely walking at the moment 90% chance I will be out for Sunday. I’m sorry I was looking forward to it.
I was pretty happy with my run last weekend.
Considering my lack of speed training.

Drat! Sorry to hear it, Joey! @DamianClemons, we may be in need of that warm body. Stay tuned…

Just finished signing up, I’ll be there

@adamengst - I have signed up, but I think @J_J is out. So no net loss!

I’m officially registered. I will likely just run with Cecelia (assuming I can keep up with her). You can plug me in wherever you need a warm non-competitive body.
