Congrats to Ithaca’s Jenny Berkowitz, who placed 2nd in the Belmar Parade Day Mile in Binghamton on March 7th, bringing home $100 for her efforts. Other local runners just out of the money in the men’s race were Mik Kern (4th in 4:59) and Adam Berkowitz (7th in 5:09). Jenny’s time was particularly impressive, since the Belmar Parade Day Mile course is a nasty one that’s a bit uphill at the end, and often has a cold headwind.
Also in the race was longtime FLRC member Harland Bigelow, who placed 32nd in the open race in 10:31 at age 73.
