Last call for FLRC’s March 12th track meet at Barton Hall—sign up by Saturday at 6 PM

[Sorry for the resend—the previous one had the date wrong in one spot and I didn’t want anyone confused. The meet is this Sunday, March 12th.]

A quick reminder—FLRC’s final meet of the winter indoor track series will take place on Sunday, March 12th, with the first race starting at 9 AM. Remenber that, in honor of the long jump, the clocks will spring forward by an hour Saturday night.

If you want to run, please register by Saturday at 6 PM. There is no day-of-race registration because we have to seed all the events beforehand—juggling who’s in what heat on the spot is slow and gets messy very quickly.

One additional note: MileSplit just switched from PayPal to Stripe, so when you register, you’ll click a blue Pay With Card button rather than using PayPal. It should be easier, but if it’s a problem, you can pay when you pick up your bib.

  • Events: The March events will be the 3000m, 60m, 1 mile, 200m, long jump, and high jump. We’ll also have a 4x200m relay that you’ll sign up for at the meet.

  • Volunteer: If you’re not running or only want to do one event, please join our highly amiable volunteer crew! We could use a few more people, particularly timers for lane-based races (and we’ll love you for more than your thumb). Volunteers also get snacks and a brightly colored T-shirt. To volunteer, please sign up in Helper Helper (or email me).

  • New to track? If you’ve never run a track meet before, or never run one of ours, check out our First-Timer’s FAQ for Track Meets. If you have additional questions, just ask!

  • MileSplit registration: All registration takes place in MileSplit, which is used by the schools in the area. It can be a little confusing the first time through, so if you have trouble, consult our quick-and-dirty documentation. Some quick tips:

    • Look for the green Register Online Now button in the upper-right corner.
    • Individuals should read/watch How do I enter an individual in a meet?
    • Club coaches should read/watch How do I enter my team into a meet?
    • All individuals register as Unattached; teams are only for clubs attending as a group.
    • Families should register as individuals; please do not create a team for your family.
    • Choose a division based on what you’ll be paying: Non-FLRC Member if you aren’t a club member, FLRC Member if you are, and Financial Aid if a fee would prevent you from participating. The gender of the division doesn’t matter because we combine everything.
    • When entering seed (estimated finish) times, leave Meet Name blank. It’s not used.
    • You can always log in again to change your seed times or events.

If you have problems, ask MileSplit support at registration@milesplit.com and cc me at ace@tidbits.com so I can see where you’re getting stuck.

Looking forward to seeing lots of people in Barton Hall on Sunday, March 12th!

Just a heads up, the switch to stripe might cause some confusion for clubs or anyone who plans to pay with cash/check at the meet. When you click done, the little window pops up looking for credit card info, it doesn’t let you advance at the end like the paypal option used to. I got an email confirmation of my team’s entries, so it does let you register, but may throw some people off.

Hi all,
I volunteered at the track meet on Sunday and I think that I left my bright green water bottle covered in stickers somewhere on the volunteer table. Did anyone happen to see it or pick it up? Thank you to anyone with info!

Best, Katie

@Katie_Gannon Yes! It’s next to the monitor’s desk by the throwing cage to the left as you come in. That’s the collection point for forgotten bottles. (The Land of Lost Bottles) @debbliss, there’s a Hammer hand bottle there too which I thought might be yours.

Thank you!
