Hello everyone! As temps soar into the 90s in the Southwest where I currently live, I thought I’d share a tattoo I got recently to commemorate one of my favorite trails in Ithaca - Monkey Run - and to remember all those fabulous miles with my best trail buddy, Sam-dog. We spent the height of COVID (2019-2022) living on Judd Falls Rd just a mile away from the Monkey Run suspension bridge and probably ran there at least twice a week.
As you can see, the Strava map is overlaid with Sam’s muddy paw print. FLRC folks from a few years ago may remember Sam joining for Skunkday runs and other club activities. He’s a retired old man now who no longer runs but still enjoys sunset moseys and smelling all the trail smells. We both miss Ithaca water and snow that just doesn’t quite happen on Albuquerque desert trails!
