PGXC #4 2024 logistics: FLCC in Canandaigua, course, lunch RSVP, time change, save-the-date

Hello, @pgxc-flrc and @pgxc-high-noon!

Our fourth race is this Sunday, 11/3, at the Finger Lakes Community College in Canandaigua (Google pin). The forecast has partly sunny skies with no chance of rain and temperatures in the high 40s.

Keep reading below for carpool and lunch info (a lunch RSVP by late afternoon Friday would be appreciated but not needed), plus a save-the-date for our team award ceremony on 11/17.

Course Map

The course map is below. The second half of the upper loop is slightly different from the recent past. Parking is just below the start/finish.

Post-Race Lunch

After the race, we’re planning to stop for what looks like an excellent lunch/brunch at Brewery Ardennes, which is at 570 Snell Road in Geneva (Google pin). We hope you’ll join us!

So they can be ready for us, we’ll call them on Friday night with a rough count. They understand that it will be rough, but if you know you plan to come, please reply to this post on the Forum or text one of us by 8 PM on Friday.

Time Change and Carpool Plans

On Saturday night, clocks will “fall back” an hour. Your smartphone should automagically take care of this as you gain an hour.

Our carpool setup will have a few groups self-organizing and the usual main focus at Cornell’s B-Lot, where we will sort out who is driving and divide everyone else up into cars as passengers. If you’re coming to the B-Lot, please reply to this post with your plans.

For the B Lot carpool, please plan to arrive at 8:15 AM. We’ll sort people into cars and depart at 8:30 AM sharp. It’s a 90-minute drive.

FLRC/High Noon Award Ceremony Group Run and Lunch

Our FLRC/High Noon team will again have our own annual award ceremony and banquet. This is a separate event from the PGXC award ceremony that will occur immediately after the last race on November 10.

The FLRC/High Noon event will be at noon on Sunday, November 17, at the Brooktondale Community Center (Google pin). We’ll kick things off with a 40-minute out-and-back group run and then enjoy lunch and awards inside the Community Center. Adam and I will share more details soon, but mark your calendar for now.

We’ve had some questions about how to sign up for the award ceremony that follows immediately after PGXC #5, and we’ll get that information to you once we know the answer!

See you on Sunday! —Tonya & Adam

Thanks Tonya, I plan to be at B-lot where I’m hoping to hitch a ride. I wish to return after the awards are announced but unfortunately have to miss the post race lunch. Sincerely, Carl

It’s easier for me to meet at the bank on the west side if that’s possible. I can drive if needed. -Casey

Lauren, Theo, and I won’t be at the carpool this time, but we will go to lunch after the race.

I know I’m late, Sarah and I would like to come to lunch. We’ve drive separate from the carpool.

Sorry for the late confirmation, but I will be at the carpool and can drive if needed. I would like to stop for lunch on the way back.

FYI: The course map posted on RunSignUp and linked in the pre-race email is a little different than the one posted here. The first/last loop has a slightly different configuration. I’m sure it will be well marked on the course but thought I’d mention it.

Good to know! They must have updated the map after I screenshotted it from the PGXC RunSignUp site
