I need to provide a final head count to Fitnell BBQ tomorrow morning so we have the right amount of food at FLRC’s Annual Picnic. If you’re coming on September 19, please sign up today. The picnic dinner is free, though there is a $9 NYS Parks parking fee—carpool to cut costs and combat climate change. We’ll also have beer and non-alcoholic beverages.
The picnic will be from 6–9 PM on Thursday, September 19, at Treman State Park’s North Shelter (the first one you get to when driving in). It’s an opportunity for the club to show appreciation for our awesome board, race directors, volunteers, and members.
You get to eat great food and socialize with fellow runners (without getting sweaty) while we acknowledge FLRC Challenge finishers, hand out medals and Challenge signs, and distribute Challenge shirts to those who haven’t yet picked them up. We’ll also have a swap table where you can give away running-related stuff and pick up things brought by others. Bring the whole family—it’s a kid-friendly event. (If you have outdoor games for kids, please bring them too.)

This year my daughter’s Curriculum Night falls on the same night and I just found this out yesterday. So I won’t be able to make the picnic this year.
