Remembering Tim Logue

It is with a heavy heart that I share the passing of Tim Logue, an FLRC club member and former board member. Tim was an avid runner, outdoorsman, and all-around really good guy. As Director of Engineering Services for the City of Ithaca, he was also a huge proponent of trails in the area. He was instrumental in the creation of the Waterfront Trail and the Black Diamond Trail, two staples of running in Ithaca. He also spearheaded the pedestrian bridge across the inlet, part of a trail network that will one day connect the Black Diamond Trail to Buttermilk and Treman State Parks, up to the South Hill Rec Way, and out to the eventual Coddington Valley Trail.

Trail projects take a long time to complete, but once they’re done, it’s hard to imagine a time before they existed. Can you believe that the Waterfront Trail was completed only in 2019 (it started in 2003) and the Black Diamond Trail opened only in 2017? Tim’s legacy will unfold for years to come, as the trail connections he championed continue to take shape.
