Good day, runners! Thanksgiving is coming soon, so it’s time to start thinking about the Ithaca Turkey Trot prediction run, with pies from Purity Ice Cream to the closest predictions—and a fun run for all!
New for this year, everyone must register online. The Turkey Trot remains free to enter, but to calculate results more quickly, we’re using a new system that requires all runners to wear custom-designed race bibs that we scan at the finish.
Turkey Trot sweatshirts are available by pre-order and for sale at the event—order by November 11 to guarantee your size.
What better way to start Thanksgiving Day than to run/jog/walk 5.5 miles (or any distance you desire—the challenge is to predict how long you’ll be out) and then enjoy post-race refreshments provided by Wegmans and the possibility of winning a pie from Purity Ice Cream to decorate your Thanksgiving dinner table. Bring your friends and family!
The event is a fundraiser for Loaves & Fishes of Tompkins County, a non-profit organization that provides a place for free meals, hospitality, companionship, and advocacy for those in need in the community—they serve over 5,000 meals per month. You can donate online or bring cash to the run (suggested donation is $10).
Do you have a friend or family member who wants to participate but isn’t up for a run or walk? We can always use volunteers, so check out our volunteer opportunities.
