@pgxc-flrc @pgxc-high-noon After four races in excellent—if sometimes hot—conditions, championship day went the other direction. It was cold, wet, and muddy, and although it didn’t rain much during the race itself, the skies poured on us before and after. Such is cross country, and we stayed warm(ish) by huddling like penguins inside the walled FLRC tent. Thanks to everyone who came and all the spectators who cheered for us!
Nonetheless, we had some pretty good results in the race. I’ll write up the season as a whole later, so this post focuses on the final race. Full team and age‑group results are available.
Team Places
As has been the case, the FLRC U19 and women’s teams garnered the lioness’s share of our points, with four first-place finishes out of six.
- FLRC U19 — 1st: Riley White (1), Ryan Jacobsen (2), Kai Kwee‑Hallem (6)
- FLRC Women’s Masters — 3rd: Sarah Ridenour (10), Rebecca Lambert (11), Tanya Burnett (13)
- FLRC Women’s Vets — 1st: Julie Barclay (1), Kim Jackson (3); Tonya Engst (4)
- FLRC Women’s Super Vets — 1st: Lori Johnson (2), Sandy Gregorich (3), Gill Haines‑Sharp (5)
- FLRC Women’s Ultra Vets — 1st: Anne Shakespeare (1), Deb Bliss (2), Ruth Sproul (3)
High Noon was running on low numbers, so although we managed to put together an Open B team, we weren’t able to field either a Super Vets or an Ultra Vets team for this race, and our team places didn’t match up to what we achieved in our home race.
- High Noon Men’s Open — 5th: Nicholas McPherson (4), Patrick Milano (17), Christopher Petroff (18), Brian Wegman (36), Jon Lewis (44). High Noon Open B took 9th.
- High Noon Men’s Masters — 5th: David Kania (11), Patrick Boyle (13), Jay Hubisz (14), Geoff Van Fleet (24), Seth Hallem (24)
- High Noon Men’s Vets — 3rd: Scott Dawson (3), Scotie Jacobs (5), Damian Clemons (10), Adam Engst (14), Charlie Fay (19)
