RSVP for XC awards pass-a-dish lunch & run on 11/23; jersey returns and orders

Hello, @pgxc-flrc and @pgxc-high-noon!

Please join us for our annual end-of-season gathering next Sunday, 11/23, at 11:45/noon at the Brooktondale Community Center (Google pin), featuring a group run, pass-a-dish lunch, and award ceremony. Plan to arrive at 11:45 to get situated and we’ll start running at noon. We’ll run a 40-minute out-and-back and then enjoy lunch and awards inside the community center.

Lunch will be pass-a-dish, with a harvest theme and a perfect opportunity to practice the appetizer, salad, side dish, or pie that you’ll be making for Thanksgiving dinner later this month. Bring your own tableware if you can, but we’ll also have disposable items available or use tableware provided by the community center.

The community center has power for crockpots and a functional kitchen. Please RSVP to let us know if you’re coming and what you’re bringing so we can avoid duplication. We’ll bring beer from the team wins during the series, but we could also use drinks like apple cider or flavored waters.

Parking is available in the parking lot next to the community center, and you may also park on the street shoulder. If you park in the lot, please park tight so more cars will fit. Or carpool!

We need a few volunteers to help with setup and cleanup; please sign up at the bottom of the RSVP Google Doc.

Families and plus-ones are welcome, so long as they don’t mind being recruited for future racing or volunteering opportunities.

To ensure we have enough jerseys to lend out next season, please bring any borrowed FLRC or High Noon jerseys back to the award party. If you’re interested in purchasing your own custom jersey, reply here or let us know so we can get a count from which to estimate pricing. We’ll have jerseys available for you to try on at the party so you can confirm your size before you order.

See you Sunday! —Tonya & Adam

I think I’ll bring my bike & ride instead of the group run, maybe an hour or so. Anybody else want to ride?

I can’t make it Sunday so I wanted to give a big shout out to Tonya and Adam for managing another successful XC season! All the planning, plotting and organizing is much appreciated. And as nailing down age group teams seems as simple as the proverbial “herding cats” I wanted to say thank you for all your time and effort!

You’re very welcome, Julie, and thanks for the acknowledgement. There is much plotting and scheming when it comes to building the teams we believe will score us the most points overall. And if our previous U19 runners hadn’t decamped for GVH, we would have beaten them again handily!

@pgxc-flrc @pgxc-high-noon Just a quick reminder to please RSVP for our cross-country group run and award lunch tomorrow at the Brooktondale Community Center at 11:45 AM. An easy run with friends, food, and fun—what’s not to like!
