See you at IHS for the 50th Ithaca Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving morning!

Thanksgiving is tomorrow, and what better way to start the holiday than by running or walking the 50th installment of FLRC’s festive Turkey Trot prediction run—it’s not a race!—at Ithaca High School. Bring your friends and family! Silly hats are optional. If you need a ride or can provide one, sign up on our carpool page with your details and location.

Predict how long it will take you to run/jog/walk/crawl 5.5 miles (or any distance you desire—course cutting is fine, wearing a watch is not) and once you’re done, enjoy baked goods donated by Ithaca Bakery, apples courtesy of Cornell Orchards, and apple cider provided by FLRC. The people with the five closest predictions win a pie from Purity Ice Cream for their Thanksgiving dinner table.

We will once again be collecting money for Loaves & Fishes of Tompkins County, a nonprofit organization that provides a place for free meals, hospitality, companionship, and advocacy for those in need in the community. You can donate online before the event or bring cash to the event. The suggested donation is $10.

This year we have 50th Turkey Trot long-sleeve, tech fabric T-shirts available for $20. Pre-order online to reserve your size or purchase at the run. We’ll also have FLRC hats and T-shirts for sale at the event if you’re looking to keep your ears warm or get a start on holiday shopping.

No pre-registration is necessary—you’ll fill out your prediction when you arrive. Please come to the Ithaca High School cafeteria (find it using the map on FLRC’s website) between 7:30–8:30 AM for the 9:00 AM start. There will be no COVID-19 restrictions, though anyone who wishes to wear a mask is welcome to do so.
