Sunny, Low-50s, and a 5K Race — The perfect way to celebrate Mother’s Day

Sunday’s forecast is sunny but not sweaty, so it should be perfect weather for FLRC’s 2022 Women’s Distance Festival 5K, a race that celebrates women’s running. Held in memory of race co-founder Diane Sherrer, the event brings together women and girls of all ages to run, jog, or walk together on the scenic Dryden Rail Trail. Please note that registration closes Saturday, May 7, at 6pm; there is no “day-of” registration for this event. Also, race director @irvassoc says we will have an open bathroom! (Friends and family who aren’t running are welcome to come hang out and cheer.)

Where on the Dryden Rail Trail? Freeville - Dryden end or Ithaca end?

@shiggyrunner - Hi Jim. f you click the link in the announcement here, it goes to the full race description, which would answer this question. But, since you asked, the race starts at Dryden Lake Park. (so, yes, it is also on the Jim Schug Trail - there seems to be some overlap in the naming of this portion of trail.) I don’t know which direction Lorrie and Chris will send the runners for their 5K.
