Friend of FLRC Sascha Scott wrote to tell us about the new Canandaigua Mile race on August 20, which sounds perfect for milers like Patrick Milano and Liz Hartman.
We are bringing a competitive one-mile running race to the heart of Canandaigua. This event will showcase our local businesses and raise awareness for water quality in Canandaigua Lake.
The race will conclude with a post-race party including some of our sponsors, awards, live music, food, raffles/giveaways and a volunteer lakeside cleanup hosted by the Canandaigua Lake Watershed Association.
The one-mile run race is an out and back. We will start on the Canandaigua Lake City Pier. Racers will briefly run along the pier north to Lakeshore Drive and then turn right and run along Lakeshore Drive to the 0.5 mile mark. Racers will turn around at the half mile mark and run the same course in reverse back to the pier.
