The Danby Down & Dirty trail race is coming up soon on Saturday, October 10th!

The Danby Down & Dirty trail race, with 10K and 23K distance options, is on October 10th. Sign up this week and add this can’t-miss autumn run to your calendar! Whether you’re new to off-road ambulation or are a seasoned trail vet with well-worn lugs on your shoes, you’ll enjoy Danby State Forest’s beautiful fall foliage and hill-laden singletrack. FLRC Challenge runners (@Challengers) can record their splits for the Down & Dirty (both distances) and Abbott Ascent (23K runners only) and submit their times for course completions.

New for this year, we’ll have RNWY Salty Carbs hydration mix at the aid stations. Also, local author Myra Shulman, of the Cayuga Trails Club, will be on site with copies of her new book Best 50 Hikes in and Around Ithaca NY available for purchase.

If you need a ride out to Danby or can give one, please sign up to carpool. We could also use some additional volunteers, particularly with pre-race set up, post-race cleanup, and someone to sweep the course. If you’re able to help, please sign up in Helper Helper.

Fun, friends, and food—it’s a great way to spend a crisp October morning!

Happy trails!
