Trackapalooza track-and-field extravaganza coming on Saturday, July 20!

It’s time to start thinking about your events for Trackapalooza, FLRC’s summer track invitational, which will take place at Lansing High School on July 20, beginning at 9 AM.

This Saturday morning track meet will have six individual running events from the 100m to the 5000m, a 4x200 relay, pole vault, high jump, long jump, shot put, and discus. (We’re excited to offer pole vault for the first time! Plus, race walkers are welcome in the longer running events.) You can compete in as many events as you like for one low registration fee. If you’re not running or want to do only an event or two, please join our highly amiable volunteer crew. To volunteer, sign up in Helper Helper.

We will be using hand timing this year so we can more easily include everyone. Register today to help us put on a well-organized, efficient event.

During registration, you can pre-order a Trackapalooza singlet. They are available in fitted (women’s) and straight (men’s) styles for $20. They will be available for pickup at the meet. Any extras that were not pre-ordered will be for sale at the meet, where we’ll also have other FLRC clothing for sale.

Special thanks to the SOAR Running Club for coordinating the jumps, the Groton Project Track Club for managing the throws, and the Tompkins County Pole Vault Club for hosting the pole vault!

Hi Adam,

I saw that you are having pole vault at the track meet. Two of my kids are doing pole vault this summer in Rochester. Will poles be provided at the track meet or do we need to see about borrowing some?

Looking forward to the meet!

God Bless,

Andrea Hulsey

The Tompkins County Pole Vault Club will be providing poles, I believe, but I don’t know details about what they have. I’ll check with them and post more when I know it.

My apologies, Andrea, but I just found out that the Tompkins County Pole Vault Club only has poles for athletes who are currently jumping with them this summer, so you’ll want to look into borrowing some.
