Happy Friday, @Challengers! There was more movement at the top of the leaderboard, with Caitlin Loehr jumping from third place for Most Points last week into first this week, and two-time Challenge winner Nora McIver-Sheridan staying in second, while previous leader Gill Haines-Sharp has dropped to third. The catch is that Caitlin has run nine courses and Nora eight, while it remains to be seen if fourth-place Bella Burda can complete her final three courses this weekend to rocket to the top before leaving for Princeton. On the men’s side, Brian Harrington has claimed third for Most Points and Age Grade.
Brian’s move to the top three comes thanks to him completing his final course this week, making him our 22nd finisher. Also claiming his medal for the fourth year in a row was 9-year-old Simon Woods, whose Personal Challenge was to run nine of the ten courses to match his age. He ran the tough North Country Half for his final course and the farthest he has ever run!
We’ve passed 1,450 runs and will exceed 7,000 miles this week. 10,000 miles for the year remains possible if we can average over 600 miles per week for the remaining time.
In other Challenge news, I heard a rumor that the Mulholland Waterfalls sign may have been stolen again. If so, I’ll try to get a replacement in place soon. Speaking of signs, if you want an FLRC Challenge yard sign, find me at a club event, or let me know, and we can get you one. It’s huge fun to see them while driving around town.

There’s no group run this weekend due to the Forest Frolic trail race on Sunday, but the trails out in Kennedy State Forest are lovely if you’re looking for some running company.
Until next week, keep covering the ground!
