We’ll have more results from the runner survey soon, but I wanted to announce that we had 99 people complete the survey, 91 of whom cast valid votes in the board election. The vote was unanimously in favor of the slate, so please join me in welcoming FLRC’s incoming board members, who start their three-year terms in 2025:
-
Rebecca Lambert: The current head of FLRC’s Communication Team, Rebecca is also known for her speed and expertise with bib handout at track meets and large races like Skunk. She was twice the first finisher in the FLRC Challenge.
-
Jon Lewis: Our second expat Brit on the board (with Diana Hackett), Jon has volunteered on the Communication Team and Finance Committee, has organized a number of club-wide gatherings to watch major running events like the Olympic Trials, and is a regular at the Tuesday night workouts.
Also, these current board members are starting their second three-year term:
-
Heather Cobb (Executive Vice President): Ultramarathoner Heather Cobb coordinates FLRC’s regular group runs, is a stalwart on the Communication Team, and tirelessly advocates for runners of all paces on various other board committees.
-
Ian Golden: One of the best-known figures in the local running scene, Ian is the owner of the Finger Lakes Running Company and director of races for Red Newt Racing. He also coaches FLRC’s Monday/Wednesday track workouts.
Thank you to outgoing board member Tonya Engst, who is stepping away from the board after seven years and the end of the three-year term that was added in the club’s 2022 bylaws update. Tonya plans to continue captaining the FLRC’s women’s cross-country team, participating on the Communication Team, managing PR for a handful of races (Hartshorne, track, and Skunk), and refining the bib handout process at our track meets and larger races.
Finally, congratulations to Anne Shakespeare, Katie Stettler, and John Witkiewicz, whose names were chosen randomly from the 75 valid responses to the survey and who have won free entry to all of FLRC’s 2025 races other than Finger Lakes 50s.
