Wilderness First Aid course offered locally April 29-30

Want to learn or sharpen your wilderness first aid skills while donating to a local trail project?

The Friends of Hammond Hill are sponsoring a two-day Wilderness First Aid course on April 29-30, 2023. The course is taught by Todd Miner, ED. D FAWM, from the Colorado School of Medicine, and will include lectures, hands-on applications, and recreating real world emergency scenarios. Topics include spinal injuries, shock/cardiac issues, wounds and burns, cold and heat injuries, and more. Those who successfully complete the course will be certified (or recertified) in Wilderness First Aid.

The course fee is a $345 tax-exempt donation to the Friends of Hammond Hill through GiveGab (via FLRC as fiscal sponsor). Dr. Miner is donating his time to the course so that all proceeds will benefit the Friends’ ongoing trail improvement projects at Hammond Hill State Forest. Please visit GiveGab for more information.
