Another week, another true, blue (well, orange) Winter Chill, with plenty of cold and snow to share with friends, along with post-race hot chocolate, muffins, and scones courtesy of our Food Team of Caitlin Loehr and Dina Maxwell. Thanks to them and the rest of our volunteers: substitute race director Gary McCheyne, bib and cone wrangler Pete Kresock, and the Timing Team of Bob Talda, Jesse Koennecke, Heather Cobb, Jonah Schumacher, and Adam Engst. (We appreciate you standing still in the chute while we scanned your bibs; we’ll do that next week, too.)
Ryan Lohr of Horseheads repeated as the men’s winner, with 14-year-old Avery Whitaker of Brooktondale once again taking the top spot for the women. Full results are now available, thanks to Comm Team volunteer (and third-place finisher) Jon Lewis. Once again, we have a few photos from the race—if you took any (and we saw some of you doing it), please share them in our community-driven photo album.
Remember to bring your bib back next week for the final Winter Chill of 2024 on Saturday, January 27. The start/finish will move to behind the Hangar Theatre, where we will be holding our indoor wrap party right after the race, so plan to stick around for snacks, awards, and socializing!
