Winter Chill #4 is on Sunday, February 1

Join us for the fourth Winter Chill on Sunday, February 1 at 10 am; bib pickup starts at 9:15. If you haven’t already signed up for the series, please register before 7 pm tonight so we can assign bibs to new people! (Returning racers, bring your bibs!)

The color for our fourth week is yellow, so unless you want to stick out (which is fine too!), try to wear yellow clothing as your outer layer. (The color of your inner layers can remain your secret.) Cold is cold, but the wind off the inlet may make things colder, so wear appropriate clothing! Here’s a nice primer on layering for running in cold and/or wet weather.

Registering for the Winter Chill 5K series is free, but you must be an FLRC club member. If you’re new to the club or your membership has lapsed, join or renew online today, since there won’t be an option to sign up at the race. (It’s cold, and no one wants to handle paper!) Once that’s set, register for the series—you’ll be signed up for all four races and will use the same bib number for all of them, but you can skip any individual race that doesn’t fit your schedule.

And one more reason to not miss the last Winter Chill 5K of the season—come for the run, stay for the party! We’ve got a warm indoor space at the Hangar Theatre to hang out before and after the race, post-run refreshments to help you thaw out, and we’ll be handing out series awards to celebrate a winter well raced. Cold temps, hot vibes, good company—this is the one you don’t want to skip. Finishers of all four races will be entered into fun drawings, though you must be present to win.

See you tomorrow, Chillers! -Sarah Drumheller
