2025 FLRC Challenge Completions

I’m not sure where best to share this, but yesterday I finished my own personal goal of completing every FLRC Challenge course from all five years. 50 courses (a few are repeated), 316.8 miles. Most of it doesn’t count toward any part of the ‘25 Challenge, but it was my own goal to see if I could do it.

My goal was do them all during this year’s Challenge, with the self-imposed rule they each run had to be a valid Challenge entry. That is, cover the ground continuously and record the elapsed time, but not necessarily start and end at the sign. The only exceptions were Taughannock Rim & Falls and Run Rabbit, where I took the shortest possible detours to avoid construction work and trail closures at upper Taughannock.

The basic strategy was to do all the 2025 corses first, then all the Ithaca ones and the ones furthest from Lansing before moving to Lansing at the end of June. Most of these I could do early on weekdays before the kids got up and I had to get ready for work. After moving I found time for the rest and saved Ludlowville Loop for the end because I could run out my new front door without having to drive anywhere.
