Our second indoor track meet of the season, the February Flash Dash, is coming up this Sunday. Join us at 9 AM on February 16 at Cornell’s warm, dry Barton Hall. All ages (seriously!) and abilities (really!) are welcome, and when you’re not running, you can enjoy watching some of the area’s top adult and scholastic runners compete.
Our events will celebrate the record-breaking performances at the Millrose Games last weekend: Yared Nguse’s new world indoor mile record of 3:46.63 and Josh Hoey’s indoor 800m North American indoor record of 1:43.90. We’ll save celebrating Grant Fisher’s indoor 3000m world record of 7:22.91 for next month’s Stride of March meet.
Check the meet page for all the details, but here are the key bits:
- Events: The February Flash Dash will feature the 1 mile, 60m, 800m, 200m, and 4x200m relay. Field events will include the long jump and high jump. Compete in as many events as you like for the same fee.
- New to track? If you’ve never run a track meet before or never run one of ours, check out our First-Timer’s FAQ for Track Meets.
- Registration: Our Webscorer registration system worked well last year, but please follow the instructions on how to enter seed times correctly. If you have questions, reply here or email me at ace@tidbits.com. Also contact me if you need a new club or school team added to the menu.
See you at Barton Hall on Sunday! If you want to check out the track beforehand, come to a MITHACAL MILERS Tuesday night workout for club members. Watch the Group Runs & Workouts category on the forum for details.
