FLRC-provided accommodation near Buffalo before PGXC Race #1 on September 20

We know that a lot of you are excited about the upcoming PGXC cross country series - and we wanted to make sure that as many of you as possible had the opportunity to be involved! Remember, you can sign up for the whole series, or just individual races - find out more details here.

Since the first PGXC race on Sunday, September 21, is a bit of a trek that otherwise requires leaving very early on Sunday morning to get to Williamsville before the 11 AM start, FLRC will be providing some free accommodation for anyone running the race, and you’re invited to join the pre-race fun!

There are a number of dinner options around, but I propose we gather at Live Edge Brewing Company nearby for a team dinner. If your schedule is too tight on Saturday afternoon, it’s also fine to drive up just for the night’s stay.

Staying overnight at the Old Olcott Fire Station will shorten the journey to the next morning’s race to about 30 minutes, meaning that everyone gets a better lie-in (and breakfast at a reasonable time!). We’ll try to get to Bassett Park at 10 AM so there’s plenty of time to check in and warm up before the 11 AM start.

If you’re interested, sign up on the Google Sheet here, and we’ll sort out some room assignments and ride-sharing based on who wants to come!

Feel free to reach out if you have questions - there are also more details about the whole PGXC series on Tonya’s post here.

Would it complicate things too much to bring a spouse and kids (that would fit in one room) or is this more of a singles room assignments situation?

Hi Jon, I will be taking my family with me and we booked Airbnb close to the fire station. We would love to join the group for dinner!

Hi Hailey - thanks for your question! We’d be looking to keep this to 18+, just for liability reasons, so I’m not sure we could accommodate the kids - I probably should have specified in the post, sorry.

Awesome! Will make sure I keep you in mind as and when we firm up timings!

No worries—that makes sense :slightly_smiling_face: thank you!
