M Jan 20 & W Jan 22 Barton Nights

Sorry for the delay. First things needed to be first. Go Bills! And congrats to Adam and the club on another big weekend, included in the mix, two world records at Hartshorne.

Barton is on deck for this week. I’ll keep trying to flex to allow other workouts to happen, especially given the temps this week, but students are back in session so Barton will again be pretty packed so we need to keep it pretty tight.

With students back, let’s assemble again around 7:10 on the lower / West / Statler side of Barton near public safety, and only move up as a group when we’re sure the Cornell Track Team is clear of the track upstairs. PLEASE don’t access the track area before 7:15. We’ll try to get rolling as close to 7:20 as we can.

  • Monday 1/20: 9a. 4-6 x 800m @ VO2 (roughly 5k pace, find your targets here), rest equal to 800 time (minimum of 2:20)
  • Tuesday: 1/21 Mithical Milers workout w/ Adam - will get posted to the FLRC forum tomorrow
  • Wednesday: 1/22: 9b. 8-12 x 50-80m @ full effort, 1’30”-3’ rest. Some haven’t been consistent enough with fly’s to make an ideal progression as I’d like to see towards these 80’s, and with the turns beating bodies down a bit. Maybe stick to 30-50m flys using the straight-away. Again, I want neural adaptation with these so it needs to be max only so long as you can hold true max. For most of you I think that’s still 30-50m.
