Monster Marathon Preview Run - August 1, 2026

Good afternoon trail runners!

Mark your calendars for a group run on Saturday, August 1, 2026 for a preview of the Two Hollows Monster Marathon & Half Marathon course in Kennedy State Forest.

We’ll meet at the corner of Adams Road and Owego Hill Road in the town of Harford, NY (do not attempt to approach via Owego Hill Road from the north) at 8:45 AM and start running at 9:00 PM. Race directors will lead groups looking to complete the full 13.1-mile course or shorter distances based on completing the out and back loops in different ways (10 miles and 6.5 miles are also options). We will pass the start/finish where the cars are parked at 6.5 or 10 miles for anyone wishing to resupply or call it a day at that point. There will be post-run snacks available!

While I have your attention, now would be a good time to register for Two Hollows Monster Marathon and Half Marathon!

If you don’t plan on running, check out numerous volunteer opportunities on race day. Note that the early morning setup volunteer slots will still allow you to run the half marathon race, if that works for you, and thanks so much!

Thanks Steve J. For those planning on joining and especially if you are not coming Saturday but want to run the slightly re-routed course, here are the correct, amended rungo directions!! The ones currently in the email are for last year’s course. Basically, we’ve added a lollipop loop on the East side of the course, which allows using some interesting new trail on the Ukrainian Loop Trail plus Owego Hill Road (dirt road), and making the West side less confusing going from trail to trail to trail near the turnaround - more of an out and back on the Spanish and Irwin trails.
