In what appears to be an epic display of sportsmanship, Karen seems to have mathed out a combination of courses necessary to put herself in a tie with Pete, effectively offering a draw. For perspective, adding the mileage between the two of them is equivalent to running all the way from Ithaca NY to Los Angeles CA. That’s pretty incredible. Awesome accomplishment by both.
It’s been fun duking it out on the leaderboard for the past several weeks and Karen and I have agreed to end it this way. It seems like a fitting way to conclude the Challenge and get some positive momentum going into the new year.
Karen and Bob Walters motivated me to push myself hard over the past 2-3 months and allowed me to nab a hefty PR for the most miles I’ve ever run in a calendar year. I’ve definitely enjoyed all the aspects of this Challenge and look forward to doing something new in ‘22!
