Hi @pgxc-flrc and @pgxc-high-noon,
It’s time for the cross-country racing season, and we’re kicking it off with a spaghetti dinner party at the home of @Tristan_Lambert and @rebeccamlambert (and Oliver and Ben). Everyone who plans to run one or more of the PGXC races this season is welcome!
Party details:
- When: Friday, September 13, at 6:30 PM
- Where: 6 Fiddlers Green in Lansing, park on the road (on the map, notice that Fiddlers Green makes a sharp left turn just before you arrive)
- RSVP: Please fill in your RSVP and pass-a-dish plan on the PGXC Party Google Doc.
- Carpool: Do you want a ride? Can you offer a ride? Fill in the poll below and reply to this message to describe where you need a ride from, or can provide a ride from.
- I need a ride
- I can give a ride
Dates and other reminders:
- PGXC #1: First race is September 22, in Buffalo, at the same park as last year. After that, the locations are considerably closer to home.
- Sign up now! Please help us organize the rosters and sign up now. The PGXC Cross-Country Teams page explains exactly what to do (same instructions as last year) and has dates and locations for all the races.
- Tuesday nights in the gardens: Optional team workouts have begun and are at the Cornell Botanic Gardens every Tuesday evening until the end of October. Check the Group Runs category on the FLRC Forum for details; Adam typically posts the workout on Monday.
- New video! Our team now has a video, thanks to the creative inspiration of Scott and Amy Dawson.
- Team jerseys: Do you have a borrowed jersey? If you aren’t coming to the 9/22 race, please get in touch to arrange to return it so someone else can borrow it. Adam is looking into placing a 2024 order—more soon about that!
We are looking forward to a fun season with all of you and hope you’ll invite your friends and family to come run as well. For the Taughannock race on October 22, we especially welcome friends and family who can volunteer at the race; @JesseKoennecke will be directing the event this year. (Many thanks to @CharlieF, who was our director for many years before his bi-continental and retirement lifestyle called him away. We still hope to see him racing on the team for decades to come!)
See you at the party!
—Tonya & Adam (FLRC/High Noon team captains)
