Inspired by seeing a group of FLRC members running along the inlet one weekend morning in January, The Boatyard Grill wanted to honor their 25th anniversary with a series of occasional fun runs with friends old and new. They have invited FLRC members to join them at The Boatyard Grill on Saturday March 7, for a 50 minute out-and-back run (25 minutes each way to celebrate the anniversary!). Doors open at 9:30am, the run will begin at 10am. When everyone returns to The Boatyard, they’ll host run participants with complimentary coffee, sparkling and still water, and Harney & Sons fine teas for a post-run social hour until noon.
You can leave your bag in the restaurant during the run - it will be attended. You can bring snacks. Parking is free and plentiful. And, of course, their bathrooms will be accessible. You can even lock up your bike on the north patio if you wish. This is a free event - they’re just happy to provide space for our community to meet. In the future they may open the kitchen and bar for some brunch items, stay tuned…
Please RSVP via The Boatyard. You can show up last minute without RSVP’ing - and if you do RSVP don’t worry if your plans change. But they kindly ask you to fill out the form if you think you’re coming so they can prepare accordingly.
For the route options, after you reach Rt. 89: take a right over the bridge toward Cass Park, or a left (followed by another few lefts) to go to the Farmer’s Market and Stewart Park. Both routes stay on The Waterfront Trail. (Linked routes are more suggestions than hard and fast routes, we just wanted to give you an idea of where you could go in case you are not familiar with the area. You can run shorter or go a different way if desired.)
See you this weekend!
