Time to train for the Skunk Cabbage Classic—and sign up today!

With race day in just 5 weeks, there’s still time to train for the Skunk Cabbage Classic 10K or half marathon road race on April 7. Sign up today to avoid late-registration price increases, get your name on your race bib, and grab a shirt—some sizes are running low. And if you’re not running, please volunteer!

This popular spring running tradition is based in Cornell’s warm, dry Barton Hall. The new 2024 courses feature two miles of pleasant, paved rail trail and the same scenic countryside as in past years. Our Total Eclipse of the Skunk theme commemorates the total solar eclipse coming to upstate NY on April 8, with free eclipse glasses to the first 500 check-ins and a custom T-shirt available in straight and fitted styles during registration. Finishers receive all-new eclipse-themed medals.

To help you train, FLRC is coordinating Sunday Skunkday group runs, which begin at Barton Hall at 8:30 on Sunday mornings. The group typically has several dozen runners that break out into small pods running different paces and distances. You can check out the exact race course or try a variation—the Skunk Cabbage area has many excellent running routes. Check the Group Runs & Workouts category for details.

Whether you sign up to race or register to volunteer, we look forward to seeing you on race morning!
