Another brief one today, @Challengers, since I’m still recovering from the crash. This week’s finishers are brought to you by the letter S, with completions from Sophia Sommers (a 10-course Personal Challenge) and Sarah Sabol (a Classic Challenge). We’re now up to 40 finishers!
Sarah’s completion also puts her in third place for Most Points for women, nudging Katarina Tang to fourth, while Sarah Woodyear has posted fast times to increase her point lead from 934 to 946. In most points for men, both Adam Pesta and Nico Huber have increased their point totals in first and second, with Adam going from 908 to 915, and jumping from 855 to 870. Chris Petroff remains in third with 839, with one more course in his Classic Challenge to complete.
Mileage-wise, we will undoubtedly exceed 15,600 miles by the end of the day, with a bunch of this week’s runs coming from a revitalized Dennis Stadelman, who made his first September trips down to Ithaca on Wednesday and Thursday to run seven of his favorite courses, take pictures, and indulge in his favorite ice cream. He also gets my pick for favorite photo of the week, a selfie with Andrew Flyak captured when they intersected on the FH Fox and Beebe Lake runs. Andrew has run the Beebe Lake course an incredible 78 times, and he seems on track to meet his goal of 100 runs on that course by November 15. Speaking of goals, Pete Kresock has now run 1,022 miles of the 1,345.4 miles that he wants to exceed by the end of the Challenge. Love to see people going after ambitious goals!

No group run this weekend: Group run director Heather Cobb will be directing her Parallel of Latitude 8-hour race all Saturday, so you’re all on your own for finding fabulous runs this weekend.

Town & Gown Up & Down course tweak: Pete Kresock reported that we can no longer run behind the Fall Creek Elementary School, so I have changed the course slightly to route around the school on the roads. It’s a hair longer, but not enough to make a noticeable difference for most runs.
