Week #10 of 19 2025 Recap

We’re more than halfway, @Challengers, and the weather continues to dominate, although this week it was a heat dome along with the insane rain. Ruth Sproul captured it perfectly on Lakefront Loops.

Nevertheless, we passed a few milestones: more than 1,000 runs and over 5,250 miles, with the Black Diamond Cass to Gorge course being the first course to break 1,000 miles. Way to go!

Our new yard signs are here! I’ll be bringing them to group runs, races, and workouts, so if you want to spiff up your lawn and fly the FLRC flag, just ask me for one. (Lovely flowers not included.) You can also pick up the new FLRC Challenge shirts you’ve ordered from me.

It’s nice to have Dennis Stadelman back in action this year—last Saturday he came down from Syracuse to join (and photograph) the group for our Cayuga Cliffs group run and then stayed to off Abbott Ascent (where he modeled his new Challenge tank top) and North Country Half, plus a quick completion of Mulholland Waterfalls when he realized it was on the way. Special thanks to Rebecca and Tristan Lambert for hosting the post-run swim and party after Cayuga Cliffs!

Dennis also took one of my favorite photos of the week, treating himself to ice cream while passing the Leonards’ Dryden Creamery on his way home.

There’s no official group run this weekend because of Tortoise & Hare on Sunday (sign up soon!), but Rachel Neugarten will be running Triple Hump at 8:30 AM on Saturday morning, if you’re looking for some run/walk company.

Maybe next the weather will let us cover some more ground!
